There is a lot of movement both in airing and on deck dramas, plus shuffling, so it’s not clear when iQiyi will release The Wanted Detective (former title Calming Waves) but it could be a summer 2025 release in the next few months. Starring Wang Xing Yue and Xiang Han Zhi, it’s a mystery, murder, and mayhem investigative drama with of course the slow burn romance and I’m very interested to see whether Wang Xing Yue levels up again in his first male lead centric headlining drama. He filmed this when The Double broke out his career last summer in 2024 and his last drama the ensemble Perfect Match was just a placeholder IMO with the large sprawling cast. Xiang Han Zhi had a solid release earlier this year with Love of the Divine Tree and is a very warm and easy to watch actress with the same eye acting energy as Wang Xing Yue so this should be a great onscreen pairing.
