Kang You Seok Is An Extroverted Associate Attorney Questioning His Career Path In New Drama “Law And The City”

tvN’s upcoming drama “Law and the City” has offered a sneak peek at Kang You Seok’s character!

“Law and the City” follows five associate attorneys—Ahn Ju Hyeong (Lee Jong Suk), Kang Hui Ji (Mun Ka Young), Cho Chang Won (Kang You Seok), Bae Mun Jeong (Ryu Hye Young), and Ha Sang Gi (Im Seong Jae)—as they navigate the challenges and triumphs of their daily lives. These salaried lawyers, employed by law firms, commute each day to the bustling legal district of Seocho.

Cho Chang Won, the most outgoing person in the Hyungmin Building in Seocho’s legal district, is known for his talkative nature and constant input in conversations. With a friendly and easygoing personality, he treats work more like a social gathering, naturally taking on the role of the group’s energizer.

He has a positive outlook and tends to take things in stride, but over time, the emotional toll of his job has quietly built up. Because he didn’t become a lawyer out of a sense of duty or financial need, he often finds himself questioning his place in the profession. These moments of self-doubt have sparked deeper questions about his true motivations and desires.

Newly released stills capture Cho Chang Won’s hectic daily routine. After finishing a court session, he unwinds over lunch with his usual group of coworkers. But as time goes on, he begins to wonder whether his job truly suits him. Now, all eyes are on whether Cho Chang Won can find answers to the doubts that have taken root deep inside.

Kang You Seok is also drawing attention for his transformation as he steps into the role of Cho Chang Won, a character facing inner struggles and personal growth. Through this role, he aims to reflect the emotional burnout many office workers experience, delivering a performance that resonates with viewers on a deeper level.

“Law and The City” will premiere on July 5 at 9:20 p.m. KST. Check out a teaser here!
