The first teaser is out for Youku period C-drama Love and Crown, which like its title suggests involves the monarchy and romance in equal measure. Though it looks way more scheming and political than any actual romantic vibes in the preview, with male lead Allen Ren back to being poker faced and Peng Xiao Ran reminding me so much of her role in Goodbye My Princess which IMO was her one and only hit performance. But with so much behind-the-scenes drama befalling C-dramas with delays and reshoots and editing out people and backstabbing this drama comes across as lucky to have nothing else other than releasing previews and hyping up excitement. The preview looks promising but I’m not a fan for the voice dubs for either leads.
